Our Method

How the Office Approaches Every Instruction

At the outset of every instruction, the office prepares a written plan. This document names each stage of the work, the persons responsible for it and the anticipated timeframe. It is shared with the family and revised openly whenever circumstances change.

Fees are discussed and agreed before work begins. Communications are written. Questions receive answers, not approximations. The office does not operate differently based on the size of an estate or the complexity of the family situation — the same standards apply to every file.

1

Initial Meeting

Understand the family's situation and clarify which service applies. Written notes provided.

2

Engagement Letter

Scope, fee and responsible persons confirmed in writing before any work begins.

3

Written Progress Notes

Updates shared at each material stage. Families do not need to follow up.

4

Completion and Account

Full disbursement statement provided at matter close. All accounts transparent.

Full estate administration
Testate & Intestate

Full Administration of Complex Estates

Administration where an estate includes business interests, agricultural land, several titles or beneficiaries who cannot readily be located. The office prepares a written plan naming each stage and the persons responsible for it, and revises the plan openly whenever circumstances change.

  • Valuation coordination across all asset classes
  • Tracing and formal notification of all entitled persons
  • Resolution of competing claims with full documentation
  • Final distribution with a complete and verified account
  • Cross-state registry and institution liaison where required

Typical duration: 12 – 24 months

Testate

Wills, Codicils and Faraid Advisory

Drafting of wills and codicils together with advice on how a client's intentions sit alongside the distribution rules that apply to them — including the position for Muslim clients under the applicable Terengganu state provisions. The office is careful to describe what a will can and cannot govern rather than to encourage any particular arrangement.

  • Will or codicil drafted to the client's stated intentions
  • Faraid position explained clearly for Muslim clients
  • Interaction of civil will and Faraid rules set out plainly
  • Executor meeting included if the client requests it
  • Clear statement of what the will does and does not cover

Typical duration: 3 – 6 weeks
